Hey all!
Sorry for the super long break in episodes and updates, but DAMN have we all been busy.
Why?
Because we are hard at work! Most of us are directly involved in Furman Theatre's current production of "An Empty Plate in the Cafe Du Grand Boeuf" which is running till Saturday, and we are slammed busy!

AND we have been hard at work on the 7 different plays we hope you guys will come see March 10,11, and 12th! They are coming along great and we can't wait for you to see them!

On today's episode, we interview Ian Philips, one of the directors of the festival, and a veteran of last year's festival.

Looking for audition information? So are we!

The directors of the festival have finalized the details and here they are:

Auditions will be held in the back of the Furman Playhouse in the Studio Theatre.
Audition dates are January 16, 17, 18 at 3pm and 6pm.
Performance dates are March 10 @8pm, 11@8pm, 12@3pm.
We're casting parts for six plays and one monologue.

Welcome to the podcast and blog for the second annual Student Directed Ten-Minute Play Festival. We're glad you're here.

We're going to be trying some exciting and new things here, and we hope to get you excited too. Here's what's going on:

Last year the juniors of the Theatre Department at Furman University collaborated together to create the first ever Student Directed Ten-Minute Play Festival. Six students directed six plays, two of which were written by students. The cast consisted entirely of students and all the technical work and publicity was done by, you guessed it, STUDENTS. The theme of the festival was "just the basics" because of the simple performance style.

It was wildly successful, selling out all three nights (and Furman students were stoked because it was a CLP event, too.)

Now, the juniors of this year, with a special returning senior director and a special sophomore guest director are back with another collection of plays that will excite, delight and mortify you. In other words, it's back to the basics. We're bringing some exciting changes to the festival (this blog is one of them) but it is still going to be a festival done BY STUDENTS and FOR STUDENTS. So we hope you'll get involved.
